DSS 2008 entices chocolate lovers with four-day Chocolate Event beginning today (July 23)
Dubai Summer Surprises 2008 will present a fantastic treat for chocolate lovers in Dubai when the Chocolate Event begins at Al Ghurair City, a key sponsor of DSS 2008, on Wednesday, July 23. The event is organized in cooperation with the M&M Group and sponsored by Nestle – Cailler’s. 
Billed as Dubai’s first consumer event dedicated to Chocolate, the four-day event will showcase all things chocolate between 5pm and 10pm till July 26. The event will encompass  5 different sub-events : Two live Cooking Contests – Dubai’s Best Chocolate Chef and The Live Dessert Cooking Show , The ‘Making of Chocolate’ Display , The Chocolate Display and The Chocolate Fountain.
The DSS 2008 Mega Event will feature a display of 10 different renowned and exotic chocolate brands and 20 demonstrations by pastry chefs from all over the U.A.E.  Guests will have an opportunity to learn everything about chocolate at the Making of Chocolate exhibit, meet and learn from local pastry chefs and chocolatiers, taste samples from established companies and new emerging brands, and enjoy shopping.
The Chocolate Event will be the first DSS event to hold cooking competitions for both professional chefs and individuals who enjoy cooking as a hobby. Prizes for both the Live Dessert Cooking Show and Dubai’s Best Chocolate Chef are sponsored by Supra, Toblerone, and The Rotana Group of Hotels. The competitions will be held at the Food Court on the First Floor at Al Ghurair City.
 The Making of Chocolate Display, located beside the Customer Service desk at Al Ghurair City, will be a 10-metre walk through of the process of how chocolate is made, from harvesting to the finished product. Complete with visuals and photographs, this will be a very interesting opportunity to learn how chocolate, the snack choice of millions, is made.
A massive Chocolate Display Stand, located next to Plug-Ins at the mall, will feature renowned chocolate brands from around the world. A promoter will be available to educate the crowd of the various chocolates and each brand’s uniqueness and specialty. Chocolate enthusiasts will also be able to buy the various brands of chocolate on-site.
The Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel and the Country Club Hotel will also participate through a display of chocolate carvings on July 24th and 25th.
