Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority visits Department of Municipal Affairs

Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) received a delegation from Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) to discuss DMA’s procedures of implementing Knowledge Management as a process across the entire municipal system.

 

The visit was part of a benchmarking exercise where KHDA studied DMA’s process of adopting Knowledge Management across its organisation. The meeting focused on showcasing DMA’s framework set up to support the process and the various implementation phases of Knowledge Management within DMA. Best practice examples of DMA were also discussed during the meeting.

 

Commenting on the visit, Ali Jaber Al-Yafeai, Director, Business Support Division said, “It was a delight to meet with the delegation team from KHDA and we are pleased to share our processes and procedures with them as we are one of the first public sector organisations to adopt this technology in the UAE. We hope that our learnings will help them in their adoption and implementation phase.”

 

DMA was also recently visited by Abu Dhabi Retirement Pension and Benefits Fund, National Drilling Company, Zayed Higher Organization and Western Region Development Council where similar Knowledge Management experiences were shared.

 

“Knowledge Management is central to the operation of an efficient organisation. With this technology, the work of all municipalities and the DMA is brought together to form a single sharing platform that can be accessed by all employees across the municipal system. Knowledge sharing helps in the alignment of goals and strategies that, in turn, will create an enhanced municipal system that offers consistent services across the emirate,” concluded Al Yafeai.
