Dubai Airport Freezone awarded eco 360 respect the earth certificate

The Dubai Airport Freezone has been awarded the ECO 360 certificate (Respect the Earth Certificate) for using carbon negative carpets in the Freezone. Seen in the picture receiving the certificate (left) is Mr. Adel Ghafan Basti, Technical Executive Director of Dubai Airport Freezone from Mr. Chris King and Rajesh Kumar of Milliken Carpets. Milliken are the worlds only carbon negative carpet manufacturer.

Mr. Chris King said ECO-360 represents Milliken’s long standing commitment to a holistic vision. “It’s a 360 degree view of every opportunity of every decision or every partnership. Based on three fundamental building blocks our mission is to create value - economic value, social value and environmental value. This is called Triple Bottom Line.”

Mr. Abdel Ghafan Al Basti said “Sustainability is part of the Dubai Airport Freezone’s policy and three year strategy plan. Sustainability and support for a healthy environment is part of every decision we make when implementing our expansion plans. This effort has been recognized and we have received a number of environmental awards and we have even initiated an environmental award to recognize outstanding companies for their effort at sustainability.”
