In the framework of enhancing their client satisfaction by introducing new trade services, Dubai Customs announced to the registered portal users that they can now have access to the print “Account Transaction Report” pertaining to their accounts with Dubai Customs on the website www.dubaitrade.ae.
This new service, launched by the E-Clearance Department, comes in the context of widening the electronic service base offered by Dubai Customs in order to reach an efficient and useful paperless working environment.
Dubai Customs is expected to process 12 million electronic transactions by the year 2010.
Dubai Customs recently announced additional customs services to its electronic clearance services aimed at facilitating the work of importers, cargo and clearance agents and other customers.
Omar Al Mehairi, the Manager of E-Clearance Customs Centre at Dubai Customs said: “Dubai Customs are moving forward in the electronic development plan that will turn the clearance services into electronic services, which means easier transactions and less time and effort.”
The E-Clearance Department has witnessed a significant growth in the number of electronic transactions recently. The Department’s statistics showed that 6,000 transactions are being processed daily, and that the first half of this year witnessed the processing of 740,000 electronic transactions, a 34 per cent of the total customs transactions, while the year 2006 witnessed the processing of more than one million electronic transactions equivalent to 26 per cent of the total transactions.
The new services will target mainly the shipping & clearing companies, Free Zone companies, local importers and governmental bodies.
