Dubai Festival City, a key sponsor of this year’s DSS, will host the Chocovilla, a miniature house that will provide visitors to the mall an insight into the world of chocolate. The exhibition begins on August 1 and will go on till August 14th. While the exhibition will be held from 10am to 10pm, the workshop will be held from 5pm to 10pm.
Measuring six metres long and four metres high, the Chocovilla will have guided tours for visitors every thirty minutes. The miniature home will have a library, a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, and even a garden. Nestle, the world-leading food and confectionery brand will participate in the event through chocolate treats and goodie bags for visitors.
Rania Al Mughraby, Director of Events Strategy at DSF Office said, “With only two more weeks left for the twelfth edition of DSS to conclude, the Chocovilla is among a series of unique events organized for DSS visitors. All though we all love to savour chocolates, the Chocovilla gives mall visitors the opportunity to find out more about this much loved treat.”
The library will have bookshelves with books on the history of chocolate and numerous chocolate recipes. Additionally, LCD screens will play videos related to the origin of chocolate. Visitors will also be educated on the origin and importance of chocolate in ancient cultures.
Moving on, the kitchen will showcase the processes involved in the production of chocolate. A live-cooking station will allow visitors to interact with the chocolate chefs. A room filled with the fragrances of fresh chocolate will also attract visitors.
The living room will host a chocolate artist everyday who will entertain guests with exquisite chocolate carvings. The bedroom will also host a chocolate artist who will create chocolate sketching. As a final surprise, visitors will be invited to pick a chocolate from a tree filled with sweet delights.
