Dubai: Number of suspects in Mabouh killing rises to 26

Dubai Police on Wednesday said that it had identified 15 other suspects in the killing of senior Hamas leader Mahmoud Mabhouh. Thus, the number of suspects in this case rises to 26.

 

The Dubai Police said in its statement that out of the 15 suspects six had British citizenship, three French, three held Irish documents and three were  Australians. The statement said 14 suspects used credit cards issued by the same bank.

 

Dubai Police expected the number of suspects will increase in the upcoming days, noting that among the 26 suspects so far five are women  - two from Ireland, and one from France, Australia and the UK.

 

The Dubai police added the suspects arrived in Dubai from six European destinations, including Frankfurt, Zurich, Rome, Paris and Milan, as well as Hong Kong. After the killing they left Dubai to several countries, including Iran.

 

After Wednesday's details, the number of suspects who carried British passports rose from six to 12, while the number of suspects using Irish passports rose from three to six. Meanwhile, the number of French passports users increased from one to four.

 

Mabhouh was assassinated on the 18th of January at Al Bustan Rotana hotel in Dubai.
