Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reiterated his country’s support for all foreign forces and mercenaries to leave Libya, during his meeting with UN Special Envoy to Libya Jan Kubis.
Ahmed Hafez, spokesman for Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, said Shoukry stressed that this foreign presence represents a threat to Libyan sovereignty, neighboring countries’ security and regional stability.

Shoukry also stressed that foreign forces and mercenaries should leave Libya simultaneously and without exception or distinction.
Hafez said the meeting also touched on the issue of holding Libyan parliamentary and presidential elections on Dec. 24.
Kubis briefed Shoukry on the results of his contacts with various parties concerned with the Libyan crisis, and his vision for achieving stability in the country.
