According to sources, Michel George, the manager of Reuters in Cairo fled this morning to Switzerland to escape a legal case filed against him following his reporting that the Italian student was held in prison prior to his high profile death.
The Reuters Headquarters in New York placed the blame to the Cairo office manager for allowing the publishing of unconfirmed news using anonymous sources, causing the police to file a law suit against him, the source added.
Sources reported that Michel fled to Switzerland to escape any legal consequences given his weak legal position.
