An administrative court in Egypt has ruled that the interior minister has no right to prevent citizens from traveling abroad, even a mother who wants to take her babies abroad over their father's objections, according to Al Ahram Arabic daily.
The decision came against the backdrop of a case in which the minister blocked the travel of two babies with their mother, who still had their custody.
The minister, Habib Adly, had responded to an appeal by the father, who had filed a custody motion.
But the court said that the authority to interfere with or block Egyptians from traveling lay with either a judge or the prosecutor general, not the minister – Albawaba.com
