Egypt's union of medical professionals is due to stage a symbolic strike in Cairo on Sunday in support of the Palestinian uprising against 34 years of Israeli occupation.
To protest against Israel's escalating aggression against the Palestinians, physicians, dentists and vets will stop working for an hour.
The union leaders will also hold a conference at their headquarters at the end of the brief strike.
Professional unions in Egypt have been vigorously involved in pro-Intifada activities that have included fund raising, a mock trial of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, and various solidarity conferences.
