Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit is to start an African tour Thursday which will take him to Tanzania, Ethiopia and Uganda to deliver messages from President Hosni Mubarak to heads of the three states on boosting ties, African issues and the Middle East.
In statements to reporters, Abul-Gheit has said the tour is his third of African countries within less than five months. The five-day tour aims at fostering Egypt's ties with the African countries in political and economic domains. This tour will positively reflect on further prospects for Egyptian exports to African markets, he added.
In reply to a question on the situation in Sudan, Abul Gheit said Egypt continues its close follow-up of efforts aimed at achieving peace in the arab state.
