The Egyptian Medical Association on Saturday sent four fully equipped ambulances the Occupied Territories, where they will operate as mobile intensive care units for Palestinians wounded in the uprising against 34 years of Israeli occupation.
Ten Egyptian doctors are scheduled to hand the vehicles over to Palestinian representatives at the border town of Rafah.
The association’s spokesman, Said Mohammed, told Albawaba.com that Israeli troops had destroyed ambulances donated on previous occasions.
Egyptian solidarity committees and professional associations have also sent many convoys of aid to the Palestinians, but Egyptian authorities have been barring delivery at the border, claiming that the security situation is very serious there – Albawaba.com
