Emarat Participates in the Global Anti Smoking Day

Emirates General Petroleum Corporation "Emarat" participated in the Global Anti Smoking Day by launching an awareness campaign in its service stations in the Northern Emirates, during which all the workers at these stations wore special t-shirts emblazoned with warnings against smoking and its effects on health.

Emarat's participation in this campaign comes within the frame of its commitment to fight smoking which is considered one of the most dangerous blights of our times. Scientific studies showed that smoking kills four million people in the world annually. Moreover, its dangers do not affect only the smoker, but also his surrounding environment and the community in which he lives, which renders smoking an unhealthy and uncivilized behavior.

Emarat, through its participation in this anti smoking movement, called for taking measures against smoking and fighting it with all the possible means until it is completely removed from our society. Emarat also called for helping smokers quit. The Corporation launched its campaign in all its service stations aims to raise health awareness within the community regarding the dangers and negative effects of smoking on life, health, and the environment.

The Corporation, and within its commitment to protecting general safety and the environment, takes a lot of precautionary steps in its different stations which are equipped with fire extinguishers and other equipment, in addition to training the employees, enhancing their capabilities and skills, increasing their knowledge of first aid regulations and procedures, and making sure they know how to use the equipment provided at the stations in cases of emergency.

The customers should know that this campaign's goal is to protect their interests, as it aims to prevent them from being exposed to any incidents while in the service stations, whether they were refueling their vehicles, shopping in the convenience stores, or using any of the other facilities.
