Enviromena Power Systems (“Enviromena”), the leading provider of solar services in the MENA region, today announced the appointment of Amjad Bseisu to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors effective immediately.
Mr. Bseisu is a widely recognised leader in the energy sector and a valuable addition to the board, bringing an in-depth understanding of Middle Eastern markets and the energy sector. The newly appointed Chairman joins an impressive list of existing board members, recently strengthened with the addition of Good Energies and Masdar.
“The potential for solar power in the Middle East and North Africa is compelling. As a market leader in this sector, Enviromena is well positioned to capitalize on the growth of this industry,” Mr. Bseisu commented. “I have confidence in the management team and commend the rapid expansion of the company to date. I also look forward to working with the Board and Management team to continue Enviromena’s expansion plans across the region and lead the company further into the next stages of development.”
Enviromena Chief Executive Officer, Sami Khoreibi, commented: “We are delighted Mr. Bseisu has joined Enviromena as our Chairman. Mr. Bseisu’s wealth of experience in high-growth energy sector companies will be extremely beneficial to Enviromena’s long term strategy. We are grateful for the support and leadership his appointment will provide. “
Mr. Bseisu currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of EnQuest PLC, a UK-based independent oil and gas production and development company. In March 2010 Mr. Bseisu led EnQuest through dual public listings in London and Stockholm, whereby the company became a constituent on the FTSE 250 Index. Previously, Mr. Bseisu was one of the co-founders of Petrofac, an international oil and gas services provider. In 2005, Petrofac listed on the London Stock Exchange through an initial public offering, and the company has since become one of the best performing stocks on the FTSE 100 index.
