Epson launches latest feature-rich projector in the Middle East
The EMP-1825 addresses the needs of businesses looking to combine usability with high performance
Epson has announced the Middle East launch of the EMP-1825; a versatile, easy-to-use, high-end projector with innovative features designed to deliver outstanding functionality and quality. The projector fits seamlessly within any working environment and has been specially engineered alongside Microsoft to offer compatibility with the Windows Vista Network Projector function for easy wireless and wired connectivity. This function ensures the projector can be connected wirelessly within a few seconds from the Windows Vista Start menu without the need to install any software.
In addition to the connectivity provided through Windows Vista Network Projector functionality, the EMP-1825 can also be connected to a local area network (LAN) via RJ45 or wirelessly using EasyMP. This technology has been exclusively developed by Epson to offer enhanced network functionality. Its functions are available on several operating systems including Windows 2000, Windows XP and even Mac OSX.
The multi-screen display functionality, also included with the EasyMP software, enables several projectors to be used to present from just one computer, creating larger, panoramic or split-screen displays. This is ideal for presentations to larger audiences or where a range of supporting information needs to be displayed.
A primary concern of business users when using wireless technology is data security. To address this, Epson has equipped the EMP-1825 with simplified WPS procedure and provided support for the latest 802.1x protocols such as WEP, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, EAP (WPA), EAP (Cisco), to ensure no data can be stolen over air waves. The physical security of the projector itself has been addressed with the inclusion of a Kensington lock hole and security bar.
The projector also features PC-free flexibility so that users can display multi-media content from a USB key or Compact Flash memory card directly. In this way the projector is capable of reading most file formats including videos in MPEG2, MPEG4, and WMV, meaning content can be downloaded and played directly from the internet. This is perfect for standalone presentations, photo slideshows, or movie display. Furthermore, data can be saved and edited on a Compact Flash card connected to the projector via the network connection. This function is ideal for public display especially when the projector is ceiling mounted.
If content is displayed from an attached memory device, from a computer connected by USB cable or via wireless, users also have the added advantage of being able to control page up and page down on presentations using only the remote control included with the projector.
Epson EMP Monitor software allows the projector to be configured and operated remotely over the network. In this way users can take control and monitor the status of the projector from any work station on the local area network, allowing projector errors, lamp issues and internal temperatures to be monitored centrally. This significantly reduces the time required for maintenance checks, ensuring cost-effective system management. The projector can also generate email alerts so that network managers are made aware of issues such as overheating before they cause any downtime.
Despite being packed with extensive features, the EMP-1825 weighs only 3.1kg, making it easy to transport or ceiling mount. Quality has not compromised either - the bright 3500 ANSI lumens class lamp employs 3LCD technology to ensure perfect colour reproduction and bright natural pictures even in large and well-lit rooms.
Khalil El Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East, said, “The EMP-1825 has been designed to include every feature a business user could want to aid them in delivering a seamless presentation regardless of the unique IT infrastructure of its surroundings.”
“The product’s easy-to-use wireless connectivity removes the need for cables even when transmitting videos with sound. Set-up times and adjustment issues are a paramount concern for business users, especially when on the move, so the EMP-1825 will create a perfectly square, sharp-focussed image within six seconds at the touch of a button – regardless of the angle and distance to the screen. We expect this projector to create a buzz in the Middle East markets where business presentations are an integral part of day-to-day functions for many executives.”
