ALBAWABA - President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh at the Dolmabahçe Office in Istanbul, a significant diplomatic move.

According to the Presidency's Communications Directorate, the conference discussed Israel's attacks on Palestinian areas, Gaza's need for humanitarian help, and a just and enduring peace process.

President Erdoğan emphasized Turkey's diplomatic efforts to highlight Palestinian oppression and the need for a durable truce.

He said Turkey is committed to spotlighting Gaza's injustices on numerous forums and establishing an independent Palestinian state as the cornerstone to regional peace.

Furthermore, President Erdoğan stressed the significance of Palestinian unity in countering Israel's aggression, adding that unity and solidarity are key to achieving victory.

He emphasized Turkey's humanitarian help to Palestine, which has reached over 45,000 tones despite trade restrictions on Israel, and its sanctions against Israel.

In response to rising tensions between Israel and Iran, President Erdoğan emphasized the need to prevent Israel from profiting and to maintain international scrutiny of Israel's conduct in Gaza.

President Erdoğan sent his condolences to Haniyeh for the Israeli assaults that killed their children and grandkids. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Intelligence Organization Chief İbrahim Kalın, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, Ambassador Akif Çağatay Kılıç, and Presidential Advisor Sefer Turan attended the meeting.
