ALBAWABA - Israeli Maariv newspaper reported that a strong explosion was heard in Haifa Bay near oil refineries in Israel on Sunday.
According to the Israeli newspaper, Bezan Group said that the blast sound happened due to a sudden increase in pressure in a protected high-pressure facility causing a safety disc to rupture and resulting in a huge sound "similar to an explosion".
The company added: "This is a statistical phenomenon that occurs occasionally, but the causes are still being investigated. There is not and there was no danger to the workers and the public."
An alleged video circulated online showing a cloud of black smoke rising into the sky that was believed to be related to the explosion in Haifa Bay, Israel.
