A Fateh activist was assassinated Sunday in the West Bank city of Nablus when a booby-trapped public telephone exploded as he picked up the receiver.

Israel’s Amy Radio said Osama Jawabreh, 29, was a member of Al Aqsa Martyrs Fateh group.

The group has been responsible for a number of operations targeting Israelis.

Two brothers were also injured in the attack that took place in Al Qayoun neighborhood, said the Palestinian news agency, WAFA.

Four-year-old Ammar Shabarah was injured in the forehead and right leg, while his sister, Malak, 2, was injured by shrapnel in the forehead, face and right leg, WAFA said.

Meanwhile, a Palestinian man died of wounds he sustained in previous clashes with the Israeli occupation troops in Gaza, reported the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA.

The agency said that Mohammed Walid Hamdan, 24, and a resident of Khan Yunis, was shot by Israelis in the abdomen on June 9.
