Arabian Watches and Jewellery Magazine, the leading authority on watches and jewellery in the Middle East and part of the MPPArabia Group, today announced details on the region’s first ever Watches, Jewellery and Pen Awards to be unveiled at Jewellery Arabia 2005 in Bahrain. Jewellery Arabia, now in its 14th year, is the largest and most prestigious exhibition of its kind for Watches, Jewellery and Luxury Accessories in the Middle East.
Held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hassan Fakhro, the Honourable Minister of Industry and Commerce, Kingdom of Bahrain, the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place during an exclusive gala dinner at the Ritz Carlton in Bahrain on Tuesday November 22, 2005.
The awards will be presented by H.E. Dr. Hassan Fakhro, honorary guest Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of Arabian Exhibition Management, and committee members of the Arabian Watches and Jewellery Magazine who are made up of recognisable industry leaders.
The prestigious accolades, the first of its kind for the watches, jewellery and pen industry, reflect MPPArabia’s singular efforts to recognize and reward top industry brands for their creativity and distinction. The awards ceremony, which is set to become an annual milestone in the watches, jewellery and pen industries calendar, is expected to foster cohesion amongst participants whilst also acknowledging their individual contribution to the industry. The awards will also highlight the importance of the Middle East region, already one of the fastest growing in the world in the watches and jewellery sectors for many of the international brands that will be participating.
The specially designed crystal awards, entitled ‘The First Middle East Watches & Jewellery Editor’s Choice Awards’ and ‘The First Middle East Pen Editor’s Choice Awards’, will be presented to Watches, Jewellery and Pen awardees across a number of individualised categories.
Commenting on the announcement, Lina Massad, Managing Director and Publisher, MPPArabia, said, “On behalf of Arabian Watches and Jewellery Magazine, we are very proud to be sponsoring this first of a kind awards ceremony. It is a completely new and unique concept that has been designed to recognize expertise in the profession of watches, jewellery and pens throughout the dynamic Middle East region.
“We hope the awards will also encourage international brands to truly support the industry as a whole by raising the standards across the Middle East region and focusing more strongly on the range of innovative products brought to the region’s connoisseurs and loyal collectors,” she added.
The glittering ceremony will be a star-studded event with the expected presence of specially invited dignitaries, celebrities, members of the diplomatic corps such as the Swiss, Italian, French and German Ambassadors stationed in the Kingdom of Bahrain, members of the Bahraini Royalty, leading socialites, top ranking officials and senior professionals representing the international and regional Watches, Jewellery and Pen Industry. The gathering will represent a virtual who’s who of the industry as they congregate for the first and biggest event of its kind in the Middle East.
Rolls Royce, the ultimate in luxury automobile craftsmanship, will be the principal sponsor of the ceremony. The event will also be supported by Arabian Exhibition Management, the organizers of Jewellery Arabia.
The event will also act as the official launch pad of MMPArabia’s first web based pen community for pen lovers to communicate with each other online. MMPArabia first launched its web based publication for the Middle East market less than a year ago and is now recognised as the authoritative voice for the watch, jewellery and pen industry.
“At MMPArabia our focus has always been to fulfil our partners and consumers needs. We hope this annual event will demonstrate our competence and commitment to the watch, jewellery and pen industry throughout the region,” Massad concluded.
