ALBAWABA- Israeli media sources reported that five soldiers were killed and 11 others injured when an anti-tank missile targeted a military force in the northern Gaza Strip.

 Additionally, the Herzliya Municipality announced the death of another Israeli soldier in battles in Gaza on the same day.

Meanwhile, Israeli air raids on the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours have left 50 Palestinians killed and dozens injured. 

The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that the death toll since the start of the Israeli aggression in October 2023 has surpassed 46,600, with approximately 110,000 wounded. Over 85% of Gaza’s population is now displaced, with much of the infrastructure destroyed.

In a related development, U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan expressed optimism about a potential ceasefire in Gaza. 

Speaking to Bloomberg on Monday, Sullivan stated, “We believe a truce agreement can be reached this week,” but cautioned that there are no guarantees both parties will agree.

Sullivan revealed that the Biden administration is working with the incoming Trump team to form a unified approach ahead of the power transfer in Washington on January 20. Both teams participated in discussions over the weekend, seeking to broker a deal.
