Airstrikes by the Saudi-led Arab coalition fighting Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen struck a market northeast of Sanaa on Saturday, killing 40 people, residents told Reuters.
Thirty more people were also wounded in the airstrikes on Nehm district in Sanaa province. Residents said most of the casualties were civilians.
Saudi Arabia has led an international coalition in support of President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi since March of last year, after Houthi rebels overran large areas of the country, including the capital Sanaa, forcing the Hadi government into exile.
At least 6,100 people have been killed since the fighting began, around half of them civilians.
