ALBAWABA - At least four people were killed in a crash of a series of cars in Iraq on Sunday morning, local media said.

A violent collision involving approximately 10 vehicles on a highway in Iraq resulted in the deaths of four and serious injuries to several others.

The horrific accident was caused by excessive speed and poor visibility due to fog.

The accident occurred on an international highway linking the southern province of Basra with the capital, Baghdad, resulting in the deaths of at least four people. The death toll is expected to rise due to the severity of some of the injuries sustained in the crash.

The Iraqi General Directorate of Traffic, the government agency responsible for regulating and managing traffic in the country, had previously warned drivers and highway users against speeding and urged caution due to reduced visibility caused by fog in urban areas resulting from rain and low temperatures.
