Israeli forces on Thursday shot and injured four Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip during clashes, locals said.

In the al-Breij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, witnesses told Ma'an that Israeli forces deployed along the eastern border of the area before opening fire at a group of Palestinians, injuring one.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an Israeli forces opened fire after around a dozen Palestinians arrived near the security fence that runs along the borderline and refused commands by the forces to halt.

Meanwhile in the Ramallah-area town of Beit Liqya in the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces injured three Palestinians with live fire when clashes broke out between youth and military forces, witnesses told Ma’an.

The clashes began when Israeli forces raided the town, witnesses said. Israeli soldiers in military vehicles reportedly chased down Palestinian youth during the clashes, opening fire and injuring the three before detaining them, witnesses added.

Seperately, a 12-year-old Palestinian was injured with Israeli fire on Thursday while playing near the main road in the village of Salem in the Nablus district, according to medical sources.

Medical sources told Ma'an that Israeli forces opened fire at Abd al-Rahman Iyad Jubour, injuring him with two bullets in the leg.

Israeli forces reportedly held the minor for a short period of time before the Palestinian liaison intervened for his release.

Jubour was taken to the Rafidiya Hospital for treatment where his condition was reported as moderate.

An Israeli army spokesperson was unable to comment on injuries sustained in the West Bank.

Over 11,000 Palestinians were injured by Israeli military forces during the months of October and November, according to documentation by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

The majority of injuries were sustained during clashes between Palestinian youth and Israeli forces, which have broken out in the occupied Palestinian territory on a near-daily basis since violence escalated in the area at the start of October.
