Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohamed Al Maktoum, ‘Your Majesty 2007’ is a first-of-its-kind exhibition and represents an opportunity for local women to promote their fashion-related products to regional and international buyers and designers.
Several of the region’s fashion powerhouses, including French Fashion University Esmod, have also been invited to showcase their high-street fashion products in an exhibition that will feature latest fashion, make up, abaya’s, jewellery, leather, shoes, accessories, fine jewellery, make-up, skincare and fragrances. Students from the University will also participate in the daily fashion shows, modelling designs recently featured in events including the Bride Show Dubai and the Dubai International Fashion Week.
“Dubai is all about fashion right now and this time it will be the UAE national women’s turn to shine during this glamorous, high street fashion event. The fashion industry in this region is strongly influenced by traditional elements of Middle Eastern style, so this exhibition is a great opportunity for Esmod students to incorporate different elements of beauty and craftsmanship into their styles,” said Tamara Hostal, Associate Director PR and Marketing, French Fashion University Esmod.
In order to maintain its reputation as a high street event, all exhibitors must undergo stringent quality control checks to make sure that their products match the high-end quality standards. Predicting a high level of success at the initial event, aditional “Your Majesty 2007” exhibitions are earmarked for Europe, The United States and other Arab States within the near future.
“The ‘Your Majesty 2007’ exhibition is continuing the huge momentum within the regional fashion industry and establishing Dubai as a regional fashion hub by promoting the skills and talents of UAE national and expatriate women. French Fashion University Esmod is supporting this development by providing education and skills to students who have the goal of conquering the fashion world,” Mrs Hostal concluded.
Founded in Paris in 1841 by Frenchman Alexis Lavigne, Esmod has opened schools in 20 countries, including the Dubai-based French Fashion University Esmod in October 2006, which is directed at tapping into the region’s booming fashion industry and the growing demand by Middle Eastern consumers for haute culture. Various courses are taught by the French-trained instructors, including a three-year full time bachelor’s course, a two-year part time diploma, a three or six month Fashion Workshop, a fashion summer course, Trend Forecasting & Fashion Media Communication Master-classes in addition to merchandising trainings for retailers.
