Al Rabie Saudi Food Company, a leading producer of dairy products and juices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has announced that it has recently commenced production of vitamin D and calcium-fortified juices as the first of its kind in the Saudi markets and Middle East. The latter, produced by Al Rabie is as part of its strategy to maintain the lead; in addition to its continuous quest for addressing the increasing demand for high-nutrition fruit beverages in the Saudi market as it is one of the largest juice manufacturing companies in the Middle East.

Calcium and vitamin D are essential to strengthen the human body's natural defences against osteoporosis, a disease common among women that leads to bone weakening and fractures. While milk remains one of the best sources of calcium and other essential vitamins, vitamin-fortified fruit beverages have also been proven to contain same amounts of calcium that are found in milk, where it contain 12% of calcium and 10% of vitamin “D”.

“As part of our commitment to offer healthy and high-quality products, keeping Al Rabie juice “always number one” we’ve been constantly developing new health products that meet the varying nutritional demands of consumers. Recently, most of our clients have been looking for vitamin supplements that offer the same nutritional value of milk products; because of this, we have produced a new range of vitamin-fortified juices,” said Monther Al Harthi, CEO, Al Rabie Saudi Foods Co. Ltd.

Since the human body does not have the ability to produce calcium, women aged between 19 and 50 are recommended to consume up to 1,000 milligrams (mg) of milk per day, and 1,300 mg daily for teenage girls up to age 18. An alternative option is fruit juices fortified with vitamin D and calcium, such as the ones being produced by Al Rabie, which are emerging as the preferred alternative.

“Al Rabie initiated the production of its orange juice fortified with calcium and vitamin “D” to satisfy variant customer need and tastes. Our investments and confidence in the Saudi market is reflected by our continuous efforts to expand the Al Rabie product line and cater to both our local and export markets," added Al Harthi.

"Our customers’ health is our top strategic priority in addition to delivering healthy and beneficial juices, and this newly fortified juice with calcium and vitamin D is a prove of our care of the customers health where it helps the human body to work properly,” concluded Al Harthi.
