Following the awards for accident free operation on Java (Indonesia) and in Venezuela, Ferrostaal in Libya has also received a certificate: Ferrostaal recently received an award for one million accident-free working hours while maintaining a number of oil and gas plants belonging to the customer Mellitah Oil & Gas as part of a contract for Uhde Services GmbH.

On behalf of Uhde Services, Ferrostaal performs maintenance work on the plants, thereby accounting for around 75 percent of the hours worked. Marc Neumann, Managing Director of Ferrostaal Industrieanlagen GmbH, comments: “The accident-free maintenance of the plants shows not only that we have well-qualified employees in the development and design sectors, but also that we have employees with the necessary qualifications for the maintenance work.”

The award proves that Ferrostaal takes the topics of health, safety and environment seriously and is successful in implementing the relevant HSE guidelines. Regular safety training, advanced vocational training and widely implemented first-aid training also impressed the customer Mellitah: The maintenance agreement has now been extended for the third time.

Ferrostaal has been active in Libya for over 30 years. With around 960 employees the company constructs gas oil separation plants, compressor and pump stations, water/gas injection plants and pipelines for the oil and gas industry, and also performs maintenance work.
