GBI Appoints Mr. Abdul Shaheed Al-Sateeh to spearhead sales activity for a major Gulf cable system

Gulf Bridge International (GBI), the Gulf’s newly incorporated submarine cable communications company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Abdul Shaheed Al-Sateeh, as Senior Vice President Sales and Business Development.

Shaheed has over 27 years experience in the telecoms industry encompassing both Government and Commercial organizations.  He worked for the Government of Bahrain, as Head of Telecomms in Ministry of Communications – Telecommunication Directorate. In this capacity, he represented the Bahrain Government at various regional and international meeting and conferences

Shaheed worked for 11 years as Head of Middle East and North Africa for Reliance Global Communications where he was responsible for the Sales and Business Development in the region. Concurrently, he was a member of the steering committee responsible for the construction and marketing of the FALCON submarine cable system.

Shaheed is a Chartered Engineer (Ceng – IEE) and holds a B.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunications from London University and a postgraduate in Telecommunication and Information Technologies from Essex University in the UK. He is a Member of Bahrain Society of Engineers and has chaired numerous organizations and committees including the Tariff and Operation Committee of the Telecommunication Council of the Arab League and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and was a Founding Member of the Arab Telecom and Information Committee – Arab Federation of Engineers.  He was also an active participant in a number of conferences and working groups of International Telecommunication Union.
