To announce the Institute’s 2008 Board of Advisors and present the details of new proposed new global logistics portal

The Global Institute of Logistics (GIL) will hold a press conference in Hyderabad, India on Tuesday November 27th 2007 to announce the line up for its recently formed Global Board of Advisors (GBOA).
The Institute sought to establish a high-level board that combines the ideas, expertise and resources of leading thinkers and activists from all facets of global logistics – all united by a common vision to improve the global supply chain.
 The Global Board of Advisors will provide GIL support with strategic and technical advice, resource mobilization and promotion and outreach.
Hyderabad has been chosen as the location for the launch in recognition of India’s growing importance in the global economy.
The press conference will be addressed by Kieran F. Ring CEO of GIL. The board will advise the institute on the challenges and opportunities in creating data platforms on which stakeholders can collaborate in the pursuit of visibility in global supply chains.

 


Commenting on the formation of the Board Kieran F. Ring CEO at the Institute said,
“We will have onboard advisors who are extraordinary, proactive individuals, each highly respected in their field: the makeup of the board will ensure that we have representation at each node in the global supply chain from the major sourcing economies to the major consumer markets. The Board will also comprise of individuals drawn from the key service industries supporting the global supply chain particularly finance and IT”.
