The elite of the Gulf’s Economic and Industrial communities met in Doha tonight as guests of the Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) to participate in the launch of the newest tool to facilitate industrial development in the region. The Industrial Market Intelligence (IMI) Portal provides a wealth of accredited industrial data, statistics and analytical content for regional and international investors, researchers and industrialists presented in one easy location as six integrated, content-rich databases.
“Unique to the Region, the IMI Portal will be an invaluable tool to everyone interested in analyzing, developing and benefiting from business opportunities in the Gulf,” said Dr Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Secretary General of the Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting. “Designed to facilitate knowledge-sharing across the region, the IMI Portal will further the mission of GOIC to improve cooperation and coordination across all aspects of industrial development throughout the GCC member countries.”
Developed by GOIC using IBM’s WebSphere suite of middleware products the IMI Portal is available in both Arabic and English. The Portal has been specially designed to be user friendly and presents a comprehensive range of essential information as six integrated databases – The Foreign Trade Database allows the user to track trends and monitor trade opportunities, the Socio-Economic Database identifies markets across the region, the Investment Opportunities Database allows the user privileged information to investment opportunities throughout the Gulf, the Technology Providers Database helps users identify the technology providers who can help them grow their business, the Experts Database identifies industry wide professionals and consultants and the Gulf Industries Database is the region’s most authoritative and comprehensive industrial database containing details of every industry in the Gulf.
