Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) and its sister company Gazeley, global developer and provider of highly efficient, environmentally friendly logistics space held a ground breaking ceremony on Tuesday, 30th March for a new state-of-the-art warehouse and office facility being built for CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain management companies.
The new 63,000 square metre facility, located in the South Zone of the Jebel Ali Free Zone, marks the second joint project for Gazeley and CEVA in the region.
Last year CEVA leased a unique 12,000 square metre Pyramid Building from Gazeley. The state-of-the-art office and warehousing facility has a pyramidal structure to embody CEVA's distinct brand and serves as the company’s Middle East headquarters.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2010, the new build-to-suit facility will incorporate state-of-the-art technology features and will be LEED certified. It will house two units; one with a 35,000 square metre warehouse and 500 square metres of office space and the second one with a 26,000 square-metre warehouse and 400 square metres of office space. McLaren Construction/ECC (Engineering Contracting Company) has been commissioned as the contractor for the project.
