Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has joined hands with Gulf Knowledge Economy (GKE) and Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in sponsoring the First Gulf eCommerce Forum 2007 being held from 26 to 27 November 2007.
The forum will discuss the latest advances in eCommerce and study its impact in promoting the development of the “eCommerce Economy” through increased investment opportunities.
“It is very appropriate and timely that Gulf Air is sponsoring this important event,” says Gulf Air Acting Executive Vice President Marketing and Sales Danny Barranger.
“Globally, ecommerce has become one of the important pillars of economic growth and aviation is one of the first few industries to have understood the potential in ecommerce and started exploiting this opportunity.”
Being held under the theme, “Ecommerce Towards Prosperity”, the forum will discuss the use of new technologies to modernize business processes within the region. It will also provide an opportunity to debate the challenges and benefits of ecommerce, analyze successful approaches and identify good practices and lessons learned.
“We are glad that Bahrain, the home country of Gulf Air, has been chosen to host event, which is aimed at making the Arabian Gulf a Pioneer region in the field of Information and Communication Technology,” adds Gulf Air Bahrain General Manager Abdulmalik Alsaei. “We are very proud to associate with such an important event.”
