ALBAWABA - The Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, issued its first statement on Tuesday regarding Israel's resumption of its airstrikes against the Gaza Strip due to the no improvement in ceasefire deal talks.
Hamas called on mediators and regional and international institutions to take the necessary measures to halt the aggression.
The statement reads: "We hold the criminal Netanyahu and the 'Nazi-Zionist' occupation fully responsible for the repercussions of the treacherous aggression on Gaza and on the defenseless civilians and our besieged Palestinian people, who are being subjected to a brutal war and a systematic policy of starvation."
Hamas added: "Netanyahu and his extremist government are making a decision to overturn the ceasefire agreement, exposing the Israeli hostages' lives in Gaza to an unknown fate."
In addition, the statement also noted: "We demand that the mediators hold Netanyahu and the Zionist occupation fully responsible for violating and overturning the agreement."
The movement called on "the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to shoulder their historic responsibility in supporting the steadfastness and valiant resistance of our Palestinian people, and to break the unjust siege imposed on the Gaza Strip."
Nonetheless, the group also called on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to convene urgently to adopt a resolution obligating the occupation to halt its aggression and to adhere to Resolution 2735, which calls for an end to the aggression and withdrawal from the entire Gaza Strip.
