Moroccan athlete Hasna Behnassi won the gold medal in the 800 meters race in the first annual Shanghai Golden Grand Prix. Benhassi crossed the finish line in 1:58.75 min followed by French runner Hind Dehiba (1:59.75) and Kenyan Janeth Jepkosgei (2:00.2). Russia's Yuliya Chizhenko crossed the finish line in fourth-place (2:01.08) while Moroccan Mined Has Hammou finished the race 5th (2:01.50). Le Matin reports that Benhassi is a world silver medalist, with the silver medal she won in the 800 meters at the World Helsinki Athletics Championship 2005.
