Hezbollah fighters Wednesday destroyed a militant bulldozer on the outskirts of Lebanon’s northeastern border, the party’s media said. The Hezbollah-affiliated media War Media Center said in a tweet that a rocket fired by fighters “destroyed a bulldozer for the [Al-Qaeda-affiliated] Nusra Front.”

It said that the bulldozer was fortifying the group’s positions in the Wadi al-Khail area on the outskirts of the border town of Arsal.

Daesh and al-Qaeda-affiliate Nusra Front have been entrenched on the outskirts of Arsal since they briefly overran the town in August 2014. Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army strike Nusra and Daesh posts on a near-daily basis along the country’s northeastern border with Syria to keep the extremist militants at bay.

Hezbollah has repetitively called on the Lebanese government to end the presence of Daesh and Nusra militants on the border.
