ALBAWABA - On Sunday, Hezbollah conducted a massive missile attack on Israel's “Zevulun” military-industrial facility north of Haifa, escalating regional tensions.
The raid follows Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, eastern Lebanon, and Beirut's southern suburbs. Hezbollah's Telegram channel reported a “substantial barrage of missiles” hitting the facility around 12:45 p.m. local time.
Hezbollah called the attack a protective move for Lebanon and its residents and supported “the resilient Palestinian people and their honorable resistance” in Gaza. Recent Hezbollah attacks on Israeli positions have escalated the Lebanon-Israel border conflict.
Northern Israel was affected by Hezbollah's strike. Early Sunday, Lebanon fired rockets into Israel's Galilee area, injuring two persons, according to Israeli site 0404. Israel's Channel 13 reported that a direct strike on a residential structure in Tamra left one person in severe condition. Emergency crews were called.
In skirmishes with Hezbollah troops in southern Lebanon, four Israeli soldiers were killed and 14 wounded, five of them were seriously injured. Israel's Alon Brigade's Battalion 8207 lost its troops. The Israeli army said that two victims were platoon leaders and company deputy commanders.
This new incident followed weekend cross-border clashes. Hezbollah attacked Israeli settlements and military outposts on Saturday, including a missile assault on an Israeli troop meeting in Shumira that killed many people. The organization broadcast video of attacks on Israeli military forces in Ya'ara in the western Galilee and Kfar Giladi in the north, which it says caused further damage and casualties.
As the situation escalates, both sides look ready for further conflict, raising worries about regional security and stability.
