ALBAWABA- In a concerning trend, Hindu extremists have reportedly carried out the demolition of Muslim shrines in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, adding to a series of incidents across India in recent months.

These incidents have raised alarms about the escalating religious tensions and systematic discrimination by Hindu bigots, some of whom affiliated with the BJP ruling party or Hindutva supremacist group, against minorities, particularly the Muslim community.

The destruction and desecration of Muslim shrines not only signify acts of religious intolerance but also threaten the longstanding coexistence and diversity that India has been celebrated for.
