ALBAWABA - According to a report by the Israeli news website Walla, an ambulance vehicle disguised as a Savanna van, joined Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's convoy in recent months.

Officials in the Prime Minister's Office said this is a security precaution when Netanyahu travels "long distances" for operational purposes. Walla got hold of records from various sources that contradicted the PM's office claims.

In recent months, a covert ambulance was added to the Prime Minister's protected convoy in the event of a medical emergency.

The ambulance is unmarked, disguised as a civilian Savannah van, and travels at the end of Netanyahu's convoy, JPost reported.

According to two credible sources close to Netanyahu, this is an emergency medical van that joined the prime minister's convoy following his heart attack last summer and has been closely following the convoy ever since.

Officials in the prime minister's office confirmed to Walla that it is an ambulance. Still, they said it is not a policy change, but rather a security routine for an emergency vehicle to accompany the prime minister when he goes "long distances" from hospitals for work.

However, Walla has documents from the last few months indicating that the ambulance traveled in convoys in Caesarea, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem, which are not "long distances" from hospitals.
