Homage to Amine Belcadi in Gnaoua Festival

Homage was paid to Amine Belcadi, the ex-governor of Essaouria (1994-1998). <i>Le Matin</i> reports that Belcadi's family and friends were invited to a musical evening in Dar Souiri, which hosted famous artists such as Maalem Abdeslam Alikane, Hamil El Kasri and the Moroccan percussionist Rhani Krija. At the beginning of the homage ceremony the current governor of Essaouira Abdeslem Bekrate said, "He liked Essaouira and he contributed greatly to the cultural and artistic events in the city", adding that Belcadi was one of the initiators of the Gnaoua Festival.
