Horizon.FCB are fostering their creative offering in the Gulf by way of structural enhancements on the people front.  The new line-up comprises Alan Firmin who moves from the Kuwait office to Dubai as their Creative Director, Joe Ghazal who is newly appointed as Creative Director Horizon. FCB in Kuwait, whilst already ensconced in Jeddah is Jon Harrison as Regional Creative Director.

Announcing the changes, Caesar Matar, President and COO of Horizon. FCB, said, “It was Fairfax Cone, a legendry ad man and co-founder of Foote, Cone & Belding, who said, “The inventory goes down the elevator every night.”  Without question that sentiment rings truer than ever in today’s competitive advertising and marketing communications environment. What we have done is not but part of our persistent plan to ever enhancing our inventory in line with our constant commitment to deliver the best value we can to our clients and our creative product is of the essence. The creative talent pool of our network is now stronger than ever but our ambition is limitless."

The creative reshuffle, revealing just one facet of Horizon. FCB’s future plans, also provides an opportunity to emphasise the award winning creative talent they have onboard.

Before coming to the Middle East 10 years ago, Alan Firmin worked in London, Paris and Amsterdam. Since then he has worked in Lebanon, Dubai and Kuwait with Grey Worldwide, becoming the youngest Creative Director in Grey history at just 26.  He has also won 12 IAA Awards in the region one being the Banking category for BKME (Bank of Kuwait & the Middle East).
During his career he has worked with many of the largest global brand names including: IKEA, VW, Mercedes Benz, Nissan and NOKIA to name a few.

Starting with I & C DDB in Beirut, then moving to Impact BBDO in both Cairo and Kuwait, Joe Ghazal has notched up 15 years of advertising experience in the region.  He has worked on accounts as varied as VW, Audi, Colgate-Palmolive, L’Oreal,  FransaBank, Pepsi (North Africa), Henkel, LG, Savola, Americana & Palestine Telecom as well as on the group of companies of the Kuwaiti giant “Alghanim Industries”. Ghazal won several creative awards including a Gold Medal for Lebanon at “Le Mondial De La Publicite Francophone” in Montreal, Grand Prix at “Beirut 1st Print Awards” plus a Gold Lion at the ‘Cannes Lions Festival’ for Gulf Bank, a first for the Middle East.
With extensive experience across such varied product categories, the creative heart of Horizon. FCB is strong, with both the Directors and their new teams looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
