According to a report by the Associated Press, an official representing the Houthi Shiite movement in Yemen has announced the release of Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, an aide to resigned President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
Mubarak was released to local tribes in the Southern Province of Shabwa.
Mubarak was abducted in retaliation for President Hadi's decision to proceed with a draft constitution that would divide Yemen into six federal states. The Houthi rebels strongly opposed this proposed plan.
