ALBAWABA- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has responded to a video message released by three female Israeli prisoners currently held in Hamas' captivity. In the video, the prisoners addressed Netanyahu, highlighting their 23-day captivity and urging him to fulfill his promises for their release.
Netanyahu, in his statement, characterized the prisoners' appeal as "harsh psychological propaganda" by Hamas but emphasized Israel's commitment to bringing back all captives and missing persons.
The female prisoners called on Benjamin Netanyahu to uphold the ceasefire agreement, which they understood was supposed to secure their release.
They expressed disappointment that this ceasefire did not lead to their freedom as previously agreed. They pointedly reminded Netanyahu of his promise to release them immediately.
The prisoners accused the Israeli government of causing their suffering through political, security, and military failures, particularly referencing the events of October 7th.
They described themselves as naive citizens and taxpayers to the State of Israel, now held in captivity under precarious conditions.
Additionally, they decried the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, stating that these actions put their lives at risk and accused Netanyahu of being responsible for the casualties resulting from these military operations.
The prisoners urged Netanyahu to act swiftly, emphasizing the need for their release along with Palestinian detainees, and for all parties to be allowed to return to their families. They concluded their emotional message by asserting, "We deserve to return to our families. Now, now, now."
The situation highlights the ongoing complexities surrounding Israeli-Palestinian relations, particularly in the context of prisoner exchanges and ceasefire agreements.
