HP'S marketing manager of the Imaging and Printing Group has received a top industry award for her pioneering approach to driving sales and awareness of HP’s market-leading line-up of printers, digital cameras and projectors. Among many other achievements, her innovative campaigns to publicise and popularise HP products and services include integrating IT into a road safety campaign, a fashion show and an art exhibition.
Sherifa Hady, Marketing Manager of HP's Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) was awarded the Best Marketing Manager of 2005 at the ITP Windows Awards held in Dubai recently. "The award came as industry recognition of the efforts she has channelled into promoting HP's products and services in the last three years," explained Amr Hassan, General Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Middle East.
"With the backing of a dedicated and dynamic team, Sherifa Hady has revolutionised the printing and imaging industry in the region, by making it more accessible and available - to consumers, businesses and to the community at large. It is a true honour that her efforts have not merely been recognised and rewarded within HP, but collectively, by the industry."
Hassan commended Hady on her award, which he credited to the success of her key marketing initiatives for the region citing some examples as being the most visible and successful. "The launch of HP's Vivera inks was a huge success as it showcased the symbiosis of art with printing at a very unique event, where customers were invited to spot real works of art from copies printed by HP."
In another example of an innovative marketing idea, Hady and her team unveiled a range of HP products at a distinctly different event called Fall'05,- where fashion models presented the new line-up at a society-style fashion show. "The event was specifically designed to reflect the looks, the power and the performance of the new range of products, the benefits of which were brought to life in an imaginative fashion.
"HP’s campaigns are setting new trends in marketing for the region. One of the most talked about HP marketing campaigns has been the recent road safety initiative in Dubai, where speed cameras were made visible by HP. Also currently running is the Saudi initiative to respect local customs and discretion by encouraging consumers to print their photos in the privacy of their homes, an approach which is perfectly in tune with modern consumers in the Kingdom," added Hassan.
Apart from conceiving and executing HP's stunningly innovative events, Hady also spearheads the company's colourful advertising campaigns and various in-house printing initiatives. Her current focus is on popularising the concept of printing photographs at home, and promoting mass conversion from mono to colour printing.
Sherifa Hady has held her current post for the past three years and continues to be responsible for all marketing and communications operations for HP's IPG and in the Middle East.
Among her other achievements, Hady was chosen to be a member of the prestigious ISE Achiever’s Club in 2003 which recognises the superior performance of HP employees. In June 2005, she was awarded an HP e-award for her ongoing dedication.
