The newly launched HP Officejet Pro K550 Colour Printer series delivers the world’s fastest desktop printing - offering more than double the speed of previous models, at almost half the cost.
"The Officejet Pro K550, with network capabilities and offering wired and wireless functions, signals a revolution in colour printing as it produces laser quality documents at twice the speed of traditional laser printers, at a 30 per cent lower cost per page," announced Sherifa Hady, Marketing Manager of HP's Imaging and Printing Group (IPG)of HP Middle East. "This new series of HP printers is a fast, economical, and high-performance colour printer that will prove invaluable to small or micro business customers.
"They can be assured of speed, cost efficiency, and above all, quality. With increasing importance placed on professional looking colour marketing materials printed in-house, they can create lasting impressions with the Officejet Pro K550," she said.
The essence of the new printer lies in its time saving speeds of delivering professional quality colour documents and graphics. In inkjet draft mode, the printer is capable of achieving a speed of up to 37 pages per minute (ppm) in black, and up to 33 ppm in colour.
The OfficeJet Pro K550 deploys HP's PhotoREt III technology to print bright, vibrant images on plain paper, envelopes, transparencies, labels, card stock and other media, at resolutions up to 4800x1200 dpi.
"What this versatility also signifies are measurable cost savings in an office environment. The Officejet K550 offers up to 30 per cent lower colour cost per page than laser printers, and up to 25 per cent lower black and white cost per page than mono lasers," pointed out Sherifa Hady.
The series features HP's Scalable Printing Technology (SPT) - a new breakthrough inkjet printing technology with an innovative core writing system leading to higher precision printing capabilities. SPT is a new method of printhead manufacture which provides long life printheads that do not need to be replaced by most users during the life of the printer.
"Productivity can be further improved with the innovative individual ink cartridges that are a hallmark of the new series. The optional high capacity ink cartridges are designed for efficient and optimised ink usage.
The individually replaceable, high-capacity cartridges produce up to 2,350 pages before the black cartridge needs replacing, and 1,200 pages before any one of the colour cartridges need replacing," he explained.
The OfficeJet Pro K550 is designed for Windows and Mac OS, and comes with a USB 2.0 interface. It also utilises the HP PCL 3 GUI printer language.
