H.R.H. Prince Andrew tours Injazat Defence services

His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, visited the Abu Dhabi offices of Injazat Defence Services (IDS), a subsidiary of Injazat Data Systems, the region’s leading Information Technology and Business Process Managed Services Company, last Thursday, April 03, 2008. The stopover is part of his extensive tour to observe how British technology is implemented in UAE-based businesses.
 
 
In his position as the United Kingdom’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, H.R.H. Prince Andrew met with senior executives from Injazat Defense Services, a local defence company that offers a range of solutions for defence and security, including reconnaissance and battlefield intelligence, logistics and training, and payroll, pensions and veterans administration. IDS leverages UK-based Electronic Data System’s (EDS) global defence consultancy and service delivery experience to address local and regional military and defence requirements.
 
H.R.H. Prince Andrew said: “I support all British companies in their expansion initiatives all over the world. This particular investment EDS has made in collaboration with IDS in the UAE is of significant importance as it reinforces our strategic alliances in the rapidly developing Gulf region and the rest of the Middle East.”
 
EDS Defence is a partner of the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) and a prime contractor on many of the MoD and NATO’s major programs; having served military and secure government clients for more than 30 years. EDS has garnered some of the world’s most significant IT projects and service delivery contracts, including a Defence Information and Infrastructure Program linking 150,000 desktops and 300,000 users in 2,000 locations, and has been awarded the world’s largest government IT contract to provide the delivery and management of the United States Navy Marine Corps Intranet.
