huawei@ gsm>3g north africa the leading vendor promotes all-ip

Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, (“Huawei”), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, will share its vision on the evolution of ALL-IP technology in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region at the GSM>3G conference taking place in Cairo, Egypt on October 30 and 31.
As a result of regulatory reforms and the introduction of new competition, which have disrupted the existing monopoly business model, regional operators are increasingly under pressure to improve their products and services and to increase their network investment. And with the constant squeeze on profit margins and higher customer expectations, operators are starting to implement strategic transformation plans and to introduce new technologies to retain their market share.

Huawei believes the solution is IP. Because it can offer increased bandwidth, lower cost, and a better service performance, IP is becoming the only technology able to meet operators’ requirements today.

“IP technology has significantly matured and is able to support all IP based services such as voice, video and data.  Compared to other network protocols, IP is the only protocol that can meet future requirements and keep up with a trend that requires operators to change their strategy, service and business model”, said Ihab Ghattas, Chief Business Development Officer, MENA, Huawei Technologies.

Huawei is actively committed to the development of the telecom industry in the MENA region and continues to invest considerable resource to introduce and enhance technologies to help operators overcome today’s obstacles. The company holds a leading market share in NGN, Broadband Access, CDMA And UMTS.
