The International Bank of Qatar (IBQ) today announced further features to its already popular SMS mobile phone banking service. The newly added features include transferring funds both locally and internationally through IBQ’s SMS mobile phone banking service, marking another first for IBQ in Qatar.
IBQ’s SMS mobile phone banking service continues to keep customers constantly updated on all their account information, allowing customers to know when there are movements in their accounts or credit cards. It also serves as a further reminder when payments are due on both loans and cards.

As the first bank in Qatar to offer free and secure international & local fund transfers through SMS phone banking, customers can now simply request their funds transfer instructions and are immediately provided with a secure identification number to use.

We have therefore introduced an SMS transfer service, since the one crucial item our customers always carry on them is their mobile phones. IBQ’s SMS Banking Service is divided into two segments “Hello” & “Ask”. “Hello” SMS Service; are the Messages sent from the Bank to its clients , with updates, reminders and promotions whilst “Ask” SMS Service enables customers to request information on their accounts and funds or give instructions to the Bank with their requirements and transactions they would like to make.
SMS Banking is a Mobile technology that allows customers to request and receive banking information from IBQ on their mobile phone via SMS. This allows all customers the advantage to manage their bank accounts, check their account balances, cheque book requests, money transfers, pay bills and other banking transactions, simply by using their mobile phones in a safe, easy and timely manner.
IBQ’s SMS Phone Banking Service is a highly advanced service that is designed to provide customers with further banking convenience. The service allows customers to easily manage their banking transactions for free, from anywhere and around the clock through a highly secure system.
