IDEO’s Tom Kelley to Address Management Innovation Forum 2008
The forum to feature Malek Inja from Dubai Holding and Simon Ford from Blue Banana
Tom Kelley, a leading thought innovator and entrepreneur, has confirmed early this month his participation at the Management Innovation Forum 2008 as keynote speaker. Kelley is the General Manager of IDEO, the world-renowned design and development firm that designed more than 3,000 innovations including the Apple mouse, laptop computers the Palm V.
Kelley built IDEO from a small company with 20 designers into an international design powerhouse with more than 500 employees. He is also an outstanding writer and has published two best-sellers on innovation entitled ‘The Art of Innovation’ and ‘The Ten Faces of Innovation’ in which he reveals strategies, ideas and invaluable tools for nurturing teamwork, infusing innovation into product creation and successful management skills.
“I am glad to address the Management Innovation Forum for the second time,” said Kelley. “I truly believe that Dubai is becoming a center for innovation not only in the region but also the world. I am clearly still a newcomer to the place, but even a quick look around Dubai shows a series of ventures that are innovative, extraordinary and even unique such as Burj Al Arab which is truly one of a kind, the Palm Islands and World Archipelago among others.”
In addition to Kelley, the forum will feature world’s prominent speakers on innovation including Kjell A. Nordström, Matt Kingdon, Mehmood Khan, Clive Grinyer, Adrian Hayes, Rowan Gibson and Stefan Jenzowsky. Two regional speakers, Malek Inja from Dubai Holding and Simon Ford from Blue Banana, are also set to discuss key opportunities and challenges in the Middle East that drive or hamper innovation and power profitable business growth.
“As a company operating in the Middle East we are really excited to have Tom Kelley and the other speakers share their perspectives and insights on how to instill and drive innovation within our organizations,” said Malek Inja, Group Chief Marketing Officer at Dubai Holding. “While some countries in the region are starting to recognize the advantages of innovation, I think the Middle East region still needs to focus more on building a sophisticated education infrastructure and systems aimed at producing the scientific minds that drive the research and development foundation required to encourage innovation.”
The Management Innovation Forum 2008 is organized by Leaders Presents the team behind Leaders in Dubai. Etisalat and AIS BrandLab are sponsoring the Forum, which will be held between June 22nd and 25th at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai.
