Following the success of Arab Health 2006, the Institute for International Research (IIR) Middle East today announced an additional exhibition and congress, Jordan Healthcare, which will take place from 5-7 September 2006 at Le Meridien Hotel, Amman, Jordan. This addition to the existing IIR healthcare portfolio of Arab Health, Emergency Medical Services, Middle East Trauma, Accident & Emergency and Patient Safety 2006: Infection Control congresses, will offer medical professionals greater access to quality exhibitions across the region.

The standard of healthcare services and medical facilities in Jordan, particularly in the private sector, are among the best in the region. This is supported by the thriving healthcare tourism sector where 30 percent of Jordan’s private sector patients come from the surrounding countries of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and other Middle East countries, all linked by road. Jordan Healthcare will bring together, in this unique networking event, both the decision makers and the physicians responsible for equipment purchases as well as specialist dealers and distributors for this region of the Middle East.

John Hassett, Commercial Director Exhibitions, IIR Middle East, adds, “The advanced healthcare system in Jordan, particularly the private sector, continues to attract patients from neighbouring countries. As such, we hope that this exhibition will provide the platform for the sharing of medical expertise both through the exhibition and congress program.”

An international congress program offering educational symposia on the topics of radiology, laparascopic surgery, orthopaedics, oncology and cardiology will support the exhibition.

Hassett continues, “Our experience from our other exhibitions re-enforces that the inclusion of high quality scientifically based congresses is important for visiting physicians and exhibitors alike.”

The quality of Jordan’s healthcare system has improved dramatically over the last two decades placing it among the top 10 countries in the world in reducing infant mortality. Hassett concludes, “We are confident that the addition of Jordan Healthcare to the existing exhibition and congress schedule will further strengthen the delivery of healthcare both locally and to the broader Middle East.”

Jordan Healthcare is supported by the Ministry of Health in Jordan. For further information, please visit www.jordanhealthcare.org
