ALBAWABA- In a significant escalation of violence, the Jenin Battalion of the Al-Quds Brigades engaged in fierce clashes with Israeli forces as they stormed the city of Jenin.
The battalion reportedly set up a complex ambush in the Sibat area, detonating an explosive device that struck Israeli infantry.
Additional explosive devices targeted Israeli vehicles near the cinema area, causing casualties. The battalion also engaged in direct gunfire, reportedly inflicting injuries on the Israeli troops.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that a young man was shot by Israeli forces near the cinema roundabout, and a woman was injured when an Israeli military jeep collided with her car during the incursion.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed that the operation targeted militants and aimed to detect and dismantle explosives in the Jenin camp.
Meanwhile, in a related incident in the southern Gaza Strip, one person was killed and another injured in an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Masha’la area, south of Deir Al-Balah.
The Israeli Army Radio reported that seven soldiers were injured in an explosion in the southern Gaza Strip, with four of them in serious condition.
According to the Israeli army spokesman, the injured soldiers belonged to the reserve forces of Battalion 9215 and were seriously wounded during the operation.
