Iran FM: No change expected in foreign policy following presidential election

Iran's Foreign Minister, Kamal Kharrazi, stressed on Sunday that foreign policy principles would not be affected by the new president. "The nuclear programs will not undergo any change. We are for detente policy and cooperation with the international community and insist on our principles," he told reporters at a press conference.

"As we have already predicted, elections held (in Iran) on Saturday made the Americans feel ashamed and it proved that they were neither good politicians not fortune tellers," he said, according to IRNA.

The Iranian people said a 'big no' to the US in the elections, Kharrazi stated, adding, "We hope that the Americans will wake up and revise their stances towards Iran before it is too late."
